Test Results

Test ResultsResults of tests are usually available in the afternoon when staff have more time. Please call after 14:00 on 01604 670780.

Some results may take seven or more days to come back. You will be advised when to call at the time your test is taken.

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission in writing for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if you are advised to do so.

Reception staff can only advise whether your result has been recorded as high/low/normal/abnormal and pass on any doctors' comments.

They are unable to answer any questions or give advice as they are not clinically trained.

If the tests were requested by a consultant these will be discussed at your follow up appointment with the consultant.  The GP will not automatically receive a copy of these results and their advice may differ from the specialist. Please discuss concerns with your consultant.

If you wish to discuss your results of tests requested by your GP or nurse, you will need to book a telephone appointment with a GP or Practice Nurse .
