PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SECOND DOSE APPOINTMENTS FOR 20TH JANUARY AND 23RD JANUARY ARE CANCELLED
LATEST ADVICE RE SECOND DOSE OF CORONAVIRUS VACCINE
In light of new advice from the UK Chief Medical Officers with regard to the vaccine for covid-19, the NHS in Northamptonshire intends to reschedule the majority of second vaccinations. The new medical advice is that the second dose of the vaccine remains effective when given up to 12 weeks after the first dose, and should be given towards the end of this 12 week period.
People will need two doses of the vaccine to get the best long-term protection from the virus, but will still have a significant level of protection at 22 days after receiving the first dose. The new guidance will also help ensure that as many people as possible benefit from the first dose of the vaccine as soon as possible. Please be reassured that there are no safety concerns in the new guidance, and it will not impact on how effective the vaccination is in protecting you from Covid-19 once the course is complete.
This means cancelling a large number of appointments. If an appointment is going to be changed we will try to get in touch with you. Given the numbers of people we need to contact and the time it will take, please do not contact the hospitals or GP practices as they are extremely busy. Your call may prevent one that is more critical from getting through.
We thank you for your understanding and patience.

To help stop the spread of COVID-19
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic we have had to change the way in which we work. The main doors to the surgery are closed as we wish to avoid patients having to come to the surgery as much as possible and most queries can be dealt with via the phone or using one of the electronic systems available.
If it is necessary for you to come to the surgery we can accept your prescription requests, samples and forms though the window in reception, if you have no other way of getting them to us. Please knock on the window and a receptionist will come to you.
We are continuing to offer a full service but most clinician appointments will initially be over the phone. If they feel you need to be seen face to face they will arrange for you to attend the surgery or we are also conducting video consultations. It is important that our patients continue to seek medical advice for serious conditions of if they develop symptoms that cause concern. We also strongly encourage patients to come for their screening and immunisations.
Please do not attend the surgery if you have a new persistent cough, a raised temperature or a change in taste and smell
