AP - As swine flu runs rampant in the Southern Hemisphere winter, world health experts are concerned that some hard-hit countries have been reluctant to take forceful measures to protect public health.

AP - With swine flu continuing to spread around the world, researchers say they have found the reason it is so far more a series of local blazes than a wide-raging wildfire. The new virus, H1N1, has a protein on its surface that is not very efficient at binding with receptors in people's respiratory tracts, researchers at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology report in Friday's edition of the journal Science.

AP - When carpenter Greg Douglas crashed his pickup truck, his toolbox hit him and smashed his ribs and collarbone. After a month in the hospital, the medical bills hit him even harder, totaling $165,000.

OPENING HOURS

Monday to Friday we are open from 8.00am to 6.30pm.

We are open Saturday morning 8.30am to 11.15am - Appointments will be pre-bookable only in line with our other pre-bookable surgeries. Patients requiring urgent treatment or a home visit during these hours must contact NeneDoc. You will be able to collect your prescripton from the surgery and you may post your prescription in the red box in reception. However these will not be dealt with until Monday and it will be 48 hrs from then. We regret we will be unable to deal with general enquiries on Saturday mornings.

We are closed all day Sunday. We are also closed for training one Tuesday afternoon a month.

Telephone access:

Monday to Friday 8.00 am. to 12.45 pm and 1.15 pm to 6.30 pm.

Saturday morning from 8.30am-11.15am. However this is only for booking or cancelling appointments. No queries will be dealt with.
