The system also has a ‘Waiting List’ feature should appointments not be immediately available.

CB added that she had seen, in Reception, a Patient being helped to complete the Appointment Request Form and was very impressed at the care and consideration taken by the Reception Staff.

Neighbourhood GP Practices
This illustrates the move towards a ‘Neighbourhood NHS’ Model. It will involve Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs) bringing together the following groups:
- GPs
- Nurses
- Social Care Staff
- Voluntary Sector Workers
The aim is to provide a joined-up, preventative and holistic care at Local level. They will expect to
Improve Access, Prevent Illness and Co-ordinate Care for Long-term conditions.
These groups do not correlate to the PCN (Primary Care Network)
Pilot Practices were requested for which Woodview stepped forward.
The Primary Care Network we belong to is called MWeb and consists of the following Practices:
- Woodview Medical Centre
- Moulton Surgery
- Kingsthorpe Medical Centre
- Denton Village Surgery
- Wootton Medical Centre
As a Group, we share the following Services:
- Physiotherapists
- Social Prescribers
- Clinical Pharmacists
- Pharmacy Technicians
- Safeguarding Co-Ordinator
- Trainee Nurse Associates
Awards
SM is very pleased to share that Woodview has won an Award for its work with Learning Disability Patients.
This is a huge credit to BJ and our new Nurse BS and RI Compliance Manager, who have devoted a lot time to working on the project.
RS brings great experience to the role and she will lead the Annual Learning Disability Reviews as well as the Severe Mental Health Physical Reviews.
Learning Disability Patients often find it very difficult to come into the Practice and the Practice is keen to make it as easy as possible for them.
6. Date of Next Meeting
The date of the next meeting will be Wednesday 26th November 2025 at 2pm.
Important Update: Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) for Weight Management
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has recently published a Technology Appraisal (TA1026) for Tirzepatide, a new medication for managing overweight and obesity, available under the brand name Mounjaro.
Unlike previous weight management medications, Mounjaro can be prescribed in Primary Care. However, like Wegovy (semaglutide), it requires comprehensive support services to help patients make the lifestyle changes needed for the medication to be most effective.
When Will Mounjaro Be Available?
NHS England has confirmed that Mounjaro will be rolled out in phases over the next few years. At this stage, we are awaiting further guidance on how this medication will be made available and the best way to implement it to meet our patients’ needs.
What Does This Mean for You?
We kindly ask that you do not contact your GP practice to request Mounjaro for weight loss at this time. GP practices are currently very busy, and managing inquiries about this medication would place additional strain on our resources, potentially reducing the time available for patient appointments.
In addition:
- GPs have been asked not to prescribe Mounjaro for weight loss at this time. This is to ensure that appropriate training, education, and support services are in place to safely and effectively prescribe this medication in the future.
- Work is underway with clinical colleagues and experts to develop a specialist weight management service for patients with complex needs, which will include access to medications like Mounjaro.
If your Mounjaro is prescribed by the private company, the responsibility for assessment, prescribing, dealing with side effects and follow up lies entirely with theprivate company, and not the surgery.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to establish safe and effective weight management options in our community.
